Ah, celebrities. You got to love them. Some of them are always doing the dumbest things. I don’t mean to pick on anyone, but it seems that Paris Hilton is usually one of those ‘how-did-you-get-to-be famous celebrities. Of course, she is the heiress to one of the most famous hotel and resort chains in the world. She was on a popular television reality (reality?) show. She’s not bad to look at and usually has something print worthy to say. But enough of the commentary. Paris Hilton and her boyfriend, Cy Waits, were arrested a few nights ago in Las Vegas. Ms. Hilton was found to be in possession of cocaine, and Mr. Waits was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Waits and his brother, Jesse, operate the popular nightclubs Tryst and XS. The Tryst nightclub is in the Wynn Las Vegas Casino Resort.
In order to keep up his companies good reputation, Steve Wynn has cut ties with Cy Waits, and will no longer allow him to be apart of the casino’s nightclub. A spokesperson for the casino resort stated that Mr. Waits is, “separated from the company and is free to pursue other interests.” Brother, Jesse, will remain as a general partner of both nightclubs. Cy Waits, was accused of DWI. The arresting officer reported that he smelled marijuana and discovered a “roach” or used joint. Waits failed several (but not all) aspects of a field sobriety test.
As for Ms. Hilton. She was released from a Las Vegas police station, has set up a court date for October 27 and has become the butt of late night comedy talk shows. She has also incurred the wrath of Steve Wynn. Wynn reported that Ms. Hilton has been banned from all Wynn Resorts casino properties. Hilton claims the cocaine was not hers, but she still had it, and casino owners can do what they wish when it comes to dealing with their properties.
