Alleged Ties in The Casino World Involving Las Vegas Sands
Author: Chris // Category: Casino GamesThe Las Vegas Sands Corporation is under some scrutiny due to its ties with businessmen that are involved with the creation of the Macau Casinos. There has been speculation for years now about Chinese mob connections and now the companies in question are under investigation to find out the truth of the matter. The United States depositions are able to locate the papertrail that leads them back to organized crime leaders. The connection has now been made between Sands Corporation and Cheung Chi-Tai.
The Sands Corporation is responsible for many of the casinos throughout the world and is one of the biggest providers of this service in the industry. Currently they own and operate The Sands Macau, The Venetian and the Palazzo.
Cheung Chi-Tai has been building his own reputation in the casino world as he has allegedly been trying to take justice into his own hands. One of the events that Cheung has been accused of is attempting to plot a murder against a dealer who helped one of the casino patrons to steal millions of dollars from the casino.
Now, Nevada is having to investigate for themselves in order to protect the reputation of the state as well as the gambling reputation. The reasoning for this is that the state will indirectly be held accountable for the partnership in business that are created. With that being said, if there are ties that have moral or ethical issues, then that is something that the states have to get under wraps in order for them to maintain local support. This is not the first instance that a company could have possible mob ties. Stanley Ho has been blacklisted from participating with many casino companies due to his alleged ties with the Chinese Mafia.
The Sands Corporation has states through its spokesperson that they are operating all of their VIP room (not Cheung as was alleged) and that they are not tied in any way with the Chinese Mafia.
