Throughout the preparation they began stacking sandbags and building temporary dams to reroute the water and protect the casino floor from flooding. With all their efforts, they managed to be successful and reroute the water just inches away from the casino door. This was a monumental task seeing that this is the second highest water level but the Mississippi has seen in history. On May 10 it reached 47.8 feet causing all nine of the casinos in the area to close. A representative from the casino was excited about the event and thank all his customers and staff of many years for hanging strong in continuing to support the casino even in its time of need. Now they have a whole new revamped casino venue and as of Friday were offering free beer, hamburgers, ribs and hot dogs as a thank you for the support and to show off the new venue.

The casino was not open around the clock as they were still some necessary changes that needed to be made, however they are maintaining busy hours and reintroducing the crowd slowly to their newly reopened casino. Unlike many other casinos that open with only a portion of their amenities, this casino opened its doors only for a limited time but had the full range of their staff available and all of their amenities were in clear and working order. Among these promotions are a food promotion but last throughout the entire month of June, this will include five dollar buffets Monday through Thursday.
