Poland continues scandal with gambling Amendment

Poland continues to deal with high executives who have been accused of fraud in dealing with issues of gambling. At this time, the officials involved included three high-ranking executives as well as the minister of sports. Overheard conversations involving gambling and the new amendments that are on the table led to the opening of this scandal that continues today. As Poland fights in the battle to gain the Olympics, the minister has resigned his position in order to not affect the future outcome for Poland. Miroslaw Drzewiecki filed his resignation last month when she was brought to the public by being involved in the scandal. The current scandal name is “Operation Blackjack” and is gaining momentum throughout the Polish government and the public.

Transcripts of conversations involving gambling amendments have been brought to light and published by Polish newspaper. These transcripts show that there is an attempt by gambling companies to influence numbers of Parliament and help sway their decision on the gambling amendment. According to the minister, he feels that the public allegations are wrong as he stated, “I believe that when the media uproar subsides and when all the facts related to changes in the gambling law will be clarified, it will turn out that I was wrongly accused.” Although the minister claims no part in this, his resignation speaks volumes of the guilt factor but he faces.

According to the current records three other high ranking officials have also resigned to the Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Andrzej Czuma, Minister Of Justice, and Grzegorz Schetyna, Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister have filed the resignations with the Prime Minister therefore creating a world the impact on Poland. Task was clearly outraged by the influence of the gambling amendments as well as the resignations of these high-ranking officials as he stated, “Recent events related to the gambling act raise justified doubts among Poles.” He continued his statement concerning his beliefs on government, “For the government to work in an atmosphere of trust and impartiality, my colleagues and I want to do everything to convince Poles and also our opponents about our impartiality.”
