Throughout this year, there has been a decrease in-flight as well as the entire tourism industry. For over 21 months the Las Vegas strip hotels and casinos have been suffering as tourists have been lacking the funds to make the trip to Las Vegas. November hopes to set the trend by starting a small incline on the number of flyers that are traveling to Las Vegas casinos.
November showed 3,234,705 passengers arriving into McCarran international Airport in Las Vegas which was an increase of .1% the previous year. This was the only month of this past year that showed any sort of increase in gambling tourists. Although the results were just a small increment, the hoaxes that this would start a trend for the future and boost tourism once again in gambling city of Las Vegas.
The airlines are also excited about this increase has five of the top airline carriers increased their flying counts throughout the month of November. Southwest airlines brought about 9.3% more gambling tourists to Las Vegas and American airlines also increase the numbers by 5.4%. Although these numbers are exciting for the airline in gambling industry, the overall numbers are still down 8.7% from last year.
The gambling and airline industry are well aware that this is just a one-month ordeal and they should not be too excited since all predictions for the upcoming year for casinos and hotels have been down. Part of the increase in tourism throughout the gambling casino industry is due to Las Vegas this constant need the market their product as many individuals as they can reach.
